Engineers' meeting to talk electric vehicles

Georgia’s branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers is inviting Tim Echols as the keynote speaker for November’s meeting to speak about alternative fuel sources.

Echols serves as the Georgia Public Service Commissioner. He built a non-profit organization that operates all over the country before he was elected in 2010 to be the state’s Public Service Commissioner. His main task at this post is regulating energy.

When Echols took on the position, Georgia was ranked 34th in solar power adoption. Just over a decade on, the state has climbed up the rankings and sits in the fourth position. Echols sought to promote clean energy in Georgia and his efforts have resulted in the installation of millions of solar panels and an increase in the number of electric vehicles on Georgia’s roads. Georgia also ranks fourth for the number of electric cars.

The Clean Energy Roadshow was created by Echol. An event that travels across the state every year and it has been running for a decade, its organizers aim to convince commuters, businesses, and local governments in the cities they visit to consider investing in alternative sources of fuel. Environmentally friendly brochure printing can be used to promote similar causes.

The meeting will be held this Thursday, November 3 at the Hudson Grill in Sandy Springs. Registration begins at 11:30 am and the meeting will start at midday.
