Christmas marketplace to help fundraise for Sandy Springs

The Sandy Springs Society will host “The Elegant Elf Marketplace” next month. The event is both a shopping opportunity and a fundraiser.

First started in 2011, the marketplace gives locals a chance to get started on holiday shopping early. The event will feature a selection of 80 curated vendors selling items like artisanal goods, holiday décor, home furnishings, clothes, and food. These events often use banner printing to help guests identify which vendors they are looking for.

Organizers have also asked football coach Vince Dooley and artist Steve Penley to give a signing of their book, “Dooley’s Playbook: the 34 Most Memorable Plays in Georgia Football History.” Guests can purchase the book along with a few other texts available.

From the event’s proceeds, the Sandy Springs Society will give grants to different non-profit organizations around the local area. This fundraising effort will benefit Sandy Springs by improving different facets of the city like education, social services, and the environment.

The marketplace will happen on November 13 and 14 and is open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on both days. It will take place at the City Springs Civic and Cultural Center at 1 Galambos Way. Entry to the event requires a $5 fee and is free for children ages 10 and under. Parking will also be complimentary for two hours.
