DocuFest, a four-day film festival dedicated to documentaries, will take place in Atlanta next month. The event will recognize independent documentaries and the creators behind them.
The festival will celebrate documentaries from around the world, and the films featured will focus on “powerful and meaningful life stories” aimed at all demographics. Awards will also be handed out to films and directors that have made a significant impact in their respective categories. Some categories to be recognized include best director, best documentary, best short, and best foreign documentary.
Entries for films can be submitted online through the event’s webpage. Each entry will be overlooked by the festival’s selection committee, and selected films will receive a response email from event organizers. With this year’s discounted submission fee, anyone can submit a film for selection, including creators from Sandy Springs.
The festival is part of the city’s Atlanta Film Series, which features three other film festivals later in the year. These other events include the Atlanta Shortsfest, the Atlanta Horror Film Festival, and the Atlanta Underground Film Festival. These types of events often use banner printing to help draw attention to the festival once the event date draws closer.
DocuFest will happen between July 22nd and 24th. It will take place outside at the RoleCall Theater at 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE.
