Sandy Springs has given ArtSS the green light to continue offering arts programming at Abernathy Arts Center through an approved and updated agreement.
Since2019, Sandy Springs has collaborated with Art Sandy Springs to establish, oversee and advertise a series of fine art classes held at municipal venues. The most recent arrangement, which facilitated temporary programming at the Abernathy Arts Center, has recently concluded.
In 2022, the program got funding worth $20,000. It was a single payment aimed at supporting program operations for the program’s anticipated opening on September 20, 2022. Having taken ownership of the art center from Fulton County, the City is actively engaged in the assessment of the current facilities to determine necessary enhancements. A formal solicitation process is on the horizon as the City seeks to choose a lasting programming partner for the facility. Art supplies could be used as Promotional Products.
In a recent development, the city council sanctioned a fresh accord with ArtSS for Fiscal Year 2024 worth $50,000. This agreement is open to renewal for successive one-year periods, offering ArtSS $60,000 in the second year. The deal comes with a yearly increment equal to the Consumer Price Index or three percent, whichever is lower, for every renewal cycle after three years.
The agreement aims to assist a part-time ArtSS staff member in coordinating program planning, marketing, contracting instructors, and procuring art supplies and other equipment.
