Transportation company expands in Norcross

The expansion of a service center in Norcross by XPO, a provider of freight transportation services in North America and based in Greenwich, Connecticut, has been completed.

This will significantly increase the growing capacity of the company in the metropolitan Atlanta area. It will add 46 doors to the market in Georgia, which will enable XPO to better serve its customers by being able to handle more freight. It is also a major milestone in the plan to grow the capacity in North America by 900 net new doors by the first quarter of 2024.

Prior to the completion of the expanded service center, over 120 people were employed there. The company now plans to hire driver sales representatives, many of whom may require business card printing services, and more dock workers.

Dave Bates, chief operating officer of XPO, said that the company is adding more doors as part of its strategic plan in markets that will be able maintain growth over time. He said that the expansion of the service center in Norcross in the metropolitan area of Atlanta where the demand is increasing will be of great benefit to customers as XPO will be able to provide faster and more flexible service. He added that the local presence of the company will be strengthened with expanded service to businesses across the region and many well-paying job opportunities.
