Norcross to host summer concerts in the park

The Summer Concert Series in Norcross will start later this month.

It is celebrating its 20th anniversary, and all concerts will take place at Thrasher Park from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Friday nights. People can have a picnic in the park or dine at a local restaurant before each concert.

In addition, the CAN-Do Food Drive will be held at each concert. People can donate non-perishable items and canned food that will go to food pantries throughout the county.

The first concert will be by Face 2 Face, which is a duo of two dynamic performers who bring Elton John and Billy Joel to life. They trade top songs at the piano and will aim to deliver a memorable night of classic songs from the op-rock era. This will be on May 22.

The next concert will be by Lydia Simonds from McDonough. She is a singer-songwriter based in Nashville who brings heartfelt lyrics, soulful country, and a great deal of energy to the stage as she plays the guitar and piano to accompany her songs. This concert will be on June 5.

September In The Park is a group that plays tribute to Earth Wind & Fire and Chicago with their soul and funk music. Their concert will take place on June 19.

Such special concert series can be promoted throughout a city with poster printing.
