Special martial arts competition comes to Norcross

The US Open Gong Fu Fighting Challenge will be held in Norcross next month over a period of three days. The Shaolin Institute will be hosting the event.

Events such as this one often turn to printing services to create materials that can be distributed throughout a community to make residents aware of such challenges. The event committee is hoping to attract participants and spectators from the Southeast the wider United States.

The challenge is designed to give those who are novices and beginners in the martial arts a place to learn, and more experienced fighters a platform to grow and shine. The goal is also to enable those of all styles of the martial arts to make new connections and friendships.

On the Friday evening, there will be check in and registration. A brief opening ceremony and short Zen mediation will open the events on Saturday. There will be combat fighting, the competition, stunts performances, and ShuiNa – a type of fighting style that uses choreography and light sparring in a continuous manner. Later in the day, there will be the US Open Sanda Fighting Final, and a friendship dinner. The weekend concludes on the Sunday with several training sessions .

This event will be held from Friday, December 6 through Sunday, December 8 at the Atlanta campus of the Shaolin Institute in Norcross.
