Norcross to host Irish festival

The Drake School of Irish Dance, the Historic Norcross Business Association, and the city of Norcross are collaborating to bring an Irish Fest to the city later this month.

Merchants in the downtown area will be offering fare and activities with an Irish theme for the occasion. There will also be face painting, dancing, music, and a balloon twister, in addition to the specials available at many restaurants and shops. Local Print shops often contribute to such events by printing maps of locations of all the events with their time and more details.

Social Fox Brewing will kick off the day with a traditional Irish lunch. The menu will include colcannon mashed potatoes, Irish sausage, carrots, and peas, as well as corned beef and cabbage with carrots and potatoes.

River dancers from the Drake School of Irish Dance will take to the stage with other artists, including The Muckers, Sean the Wondering Musician, and those from the Phoenix School of Music.

There will be special activities for kids in the afternoon, including face painting, selfies with Norcross’s resident leprechauns, and the Mr. and Mrs. Ireland competition at 3:30 pm. Everyone is encouraged to wear green and pick up a shamrock at the face painting booth.

The St. Patrick’s Day celebration will be from noon to 5:00 pm on Saturday, March 18 at Skin Alley.
