Norcross to become home to African cuisine eatery

Nations Café, which already has a location in Sandy Springs, will be opening a new establishment in Norcross.

A lease for three years has been signed by Nations Café at the Oaktree Plaza Shopping Center on Jimmy Carter Boulevard. The location covers just over 3,700 square feet. Such sites often turn to banner printing to promote their latest changes.

The eatery specializes in cuisine from Nigeria and other countries in Africa, and includes stews, soups, curry dishes, fish, and vegetarian options. Among its signature dishes are curry goat, Jamaican oxtail, grilled salmon, and stockfish stew. Nations Café prides itself on using the freshest and best seasonal ingredients, prioritising locally sourced foods. The atmosphere will be family friendly, and it will cater to groups.

Okon James, the chef and owner, said he is currently setting up the space as he is getting ready to open it to the public. James has worked in several culinary institutions in Atlanta for many years, including a time as executive sous chef at Trader Vic’s. James is also the director of operations and executive chef for Destiny Food Services and Banquet Catering in Atlanta, as well as the owner of Nations Café.

Nations Café will be offering dine-in options as well as take-out and delivery services, and will be open for lunch and dinner.
