Concert series to come to Norcross

Norcross will be holding a series of First Friday concerts starting next month.

The First Friday concerts are planned to be an evening of entertainment with music that ranges from rock to jazz and all the genres in between. Concerts will be held at the Norcross Cultural Arts and Community Center from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. with the doors opening at 6:00 p.m. Attendees can bring their own beverages and food or try out one the local restaurants in the area before the concert.

There will also be the CAN-Do Food Drive at this year’s concert series. Recommendations for what is needed are shelf staples and items for the refrigerator. The first category includes such items as macaroni and cheese cups, oatmeal cups, snack packs of pudding, chicken and tuna pouches or sets with crackers, and other single-serve items. The refrigerated items include small milk, apples, oranges, individual lunch meats, and protein shakes. All food items that are donated will be delivered to the Norcross Library where there is a new food pantry.

Such concerts and their food drives can be promoted throughout a community with poster printing.

The first concert of the series will feature the Block Party Band. This is a cover band that specializes in rhythm and blues, pop, and rock hist from the music of the 1970s and 1980s. This concert will be on Friday April 4.
