Norcross will be holding several events to conclude February’s activities.
The Norcross Garden Club and the Tree Preservation Board will be celebrating Georgia Arbor Day. Mayor Craig Newton will join the third graders from the Baldwin Elementary School to plant a tree. Dave Long of the Georgia Forestry Commission will carry out an insightful talk and there will be a special presentation for the children for their environmental stewardship. This celebration will be at the Lion’s Club Concession Area beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Friday February 21.
There will also be an Open House at the Historic Library as it opens its doors to the public for the first time in decades. There will be the opportunity for residents to provide input on potential expansion and restoration plans, view the building, and provide feedback to the Historic Preservation Commission. This is a chance for residents to play a role in the future direction of the library. This Open House will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Friday February 21.
The Cultural Arts and Community Center will be hosting Movie Monday with a free screening of “Harriet” and light refreshments. Showtimes are at 1:30 and 6:30 p.m. This movie will be shown on Monday February 24.
Local events often benefit from making use of Print shops to design and create Posters. Posters are cost effective and can be displayed throughout a city with the necessary information to attract interest.
