The Kevin Durant MLK Classic will take place at The St. James in Washington, D.C. next month.
The event will be showcasing match-ups between elite basketball players from high schools in North America to provide these young athletes with unique educational, service, and leadership experiences to celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Among the high school teams represented will be Norcross High School; Grayson High School in Loganville, Georgia; Crestwood Prep in Toronto, Ontario; and Wasatch Academy in Mount Pleasant, Utah. Such schools may want to inform their respective communities of this kind of special opportunity by using poster printing services.
In addition to the match-ups, teams will visit the Lincoln Memorial where Dr. King gave his “I Have a Dream” speech, the National Museum of African American History and Culture, and the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial. The students will also and participate in a community impact project and engage in a conversation about leadership.
Co-founder and Co-CEO of The St. James, Craig Dixon, expressed his excitement about paying homage to Dr. King through this event, which will enable young athletes to compete at the highest level and participate in leadership and educational experiences.
The KD MLK Classic will take place from Saturday, January 18 through Sunday, January 19.
