Giving and art to come to Norcross

Residents of Norcross can find many activities in which to participate this month.

Such activities and events are often promoted throughout a city with flyer printing.

The Mayor’s Angel Giving Tree is now on display in the lobby of City Hall in Norcross. On the tree are gifts tags, each of which is for a boy or girl who are five years old and younger. When people select a tag and purchase the gift mentioned on the tag, they will be helping a child in the area who might otherwise not receive a gift for Christmas.

Gifts need to be delivered to City Hall no later than next Monday, December 12. Gifts should be unwrapped, and the tag taped to the gift. Sheltering Arms will receive the gifts later in the week.

The Norcross Gallery and Studios holds a Fine Art Figure and Portrait Study every Tuesday afternoon. People are encouraged to draw and paint the human body. All people who paint and sketch are welcome to attend, regardless of their skill level. There will be professional models who can pose for longer periods of time for those who want to further their study of the human anatomy.

The Gallery also holds an Open Studio on Thursdays from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. People are encouraged to join other artists to work on and develop their own projects.
