Digital currency company to expand in Norcross
CleanSpark has purchased an additional data center spanning 87,000 square feet in Norcross. The company is involved in clean Bitcoin mining and diversified services and software.
This new space will enable the company to expand its Bitcoin mining operations which will be completely carbon neutral. The company will be participating the Simple Solar program of the state of Georgia. The program will enable CleanSpark to offset any of its energy based on carbon-producing products with solar power. The company is also planning to add ground mount and rooftop solar panels and other microgrid energy solutions. Banner printing is often used on such sites to inform businesses and residents of such new developments.
The new facility will be located on seven acres on what was once the Sprint/Nextel data center. It is 33 miles from the CleanBlok operations and the ATLData Center in Atlanta and will enable CleanSpark to expand significantly.
Zach Bradford, president and CEO of CleanSpark, said that the facility will have 20 MW of power and will enable the company to produce an additional five to six Bitcoin per day. He added that by the end of this year, that the facility along with other initiatives will enable the company to produce 17 to 18 Bitcoin per day.
The mining infrastructure is expected to be operational by the end of this year.
