Wine and cheese evening supports music

A local music charity will be hosting a wine and cheese fundraiser in McDonough next week. All proceeds from the event will be in support of the organization’s music programs for children.

The Toasting for Charity at Georgian Gallery event will feature wine tastings, and cheese and charcuterie boards. Attendees will be encouraged to browse the art gallery while enjoying live music performed by Henry for Music’s students. 100% of the proceeds from the fundraiser will be in benefit of the charity.

Henry for Music is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization established in 2015. The charity provides refurbished musical instruments to interested children in need. Over 250 instruments have been provided to children in Georgia since the charity began. In 2018, the organization also launched the Youth Orchestra United Program, for students in public elementary and high schools. The program allows Henry for Music instructors to provide free music classes, to students who may not be able to participate due to the cost. Brochure printing is often used to provide the public with information about the programs and services offered by local charities like Henry for Music.

Cash donations to the charity, and donations of musical instruments will be accepted at the event. Popular instruments needed include guitars, clarinets, electric keyboards, violins, trombones and trumpets. The instruments are refurbished at no cost to the donor, or to the child who receives it. Any instruments that cannot be refurbished will be used for parts. Tax receipts will be provided upon request.

The Toasting for Charity event will be held on Thursday August 26th from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Georgian Gallery located at 10 Macon Street in McDonough. Tickets cost $10.00 per person and are available at the door.
