Popular festival returns to McDonough

The annual Geranium Festival returns for its 41st season, to McDonough’s downtown square. The event will feature more than 800 flowers, community information booths, and an artisan market.

The 2021 festival will have over 400 booths filled with items for sale, including handmade crafts, art work, jewelry, clothing, wood working, leather goods, handbags and home and garden décor. Businesses in the community will also have booths in a designated area, and will provide information about their products and services. A wide of variety of food will be for sale at the event, including food trucks and booths. There will also be a designated children’s play area, and live music.

The festival is organized by the City of McDonough and the McDonough Lions Club. Sponsorship packages are available for $250.00 and include the company’s Logo Design on the event website, and a booth on the day of the event. All proceeds from the festival will be in support of local area charities.

Vendor applications are still being accepted for the festival. Items for sale must be handcrafted. No resale items will be permitted. Booths will cost $150.00 each, and each seller must bring their own tent, table and chairs. This year’s event will also include a virtual festival marketplace, in effect on the website from July 24th to August 1st.

Small business applications for community booths may still be submitted as well. Businesses may not sell anything at the festival, but may collect information from consumers, and distribute free Promotional Products, Brochures and water if desired.

The Geranium Festival will be held on Saturday July 31st from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. A detailed map of the event will be posted in advance on the festival website. The festival is open to all ages and is free to attend.
