A chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority will be hosting a party at the Jason T. Harper Event Center in McDonough.
The Sunset Summer Groove is a concert that helps fund local student scholarships and community programming. Several performers will participate in the event, such as the Trap Jazz All-Stars, DJ Maurice, and Anthony David. The host of the party is Joyce Littel. Guests can purchase meals during the celebration from food trucks and browse various vendors during the concert. Merchants who take part in summer events like this may give promotional Pens to shoppers to improve their brand awareness.
The organizer of the concert is the Henry County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. The group was initially chartered in 2004. Multiple events are organized by the chapter each year, including the Community Shred Event and Authors Showcase. The organization also hosts fundraisers such as the Old School Dance Party and Gourmet Popcorn Fundraiser. Debra Abernathy is the current president of the Henry County Alumnae Chapter.
The summer concert will be on Saturday, June 25 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. General admission will cost guests $65. People can buy VIP tickets for $100, which includes a gift bag and access to an exclusive tent with refreshments. VIP tables can be purchased for $725. Sales for the fundraiser will close on June 17.
