Gatorade has donated $50,000 to BlazeSports, a nonprofit based in Norcross that holds community and sports programs for veterans with disabilities and children.
The donation is the result of Gatorade’s ‘For the Love of Sports’ consumer voting competition. As a result, over the next six months, BlazeSports will participate in Gatorade’s promotion, which will highlight not-for-profit sports groups across the country that endeavor to incorporate athletics into the daily lives of those with disabilities, girls and women, and groups underrepresented in sport.
Executive Director for BlazeSports America, Cynthia Frisina, commented that the organization is happy to receive these funds and to be recognized on a national level by a company such as Gatorade. She also thanked the many people who voted for the organization so as to make this donation possible.
The funds will be used to continue BlazeSports’ ability to offer its programs and provide adaptive sporting equipment.
BlazeSports has also been awarded the Ring of Gold Award for its outstanding programs for youth, and the 2016 ‘Champions of Change’ Award for its work to provide girls with more opportunities in recreational activities and sports was presented to Frisina at the White House.
BlazeSports might consider using Flyers and other printed materials to advertise its programs and offerings, as well as its achievements in introducing sports to people.
