Duluth will be celebrating Multicultural Week this month.
Such unique festivities are often promoted throughout a city with poster printing.
The opening night will feature Main Street lined with international food trucks offering cuisine from around the world to be enjoyed along with the music of Mariachi Mexico. This will be on Wednesday August 6.
Multicultural Thursday Nights Out will be an evening of storytelling, art, and cultural connections. Featured will be interactive craft stations, live multicultural performances, and a special screening of the film, “Samsara.” This will be on Thursday August 7.
The next event will be an evening of dance, live music, international cuisine, and cultural stations. A lineup of performances from Chinese Lion Dance, Fire Dancers Showcase, Southern Pearls Step Group, and Berdole Flamenco, among others will be on the Main Stage. This will be on Friday August 8.
All these events will take place from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Multicultural Week will conclude with a Festival Finale of music, workshops, and a cultural showcase. The multicultural workshops will run all day and will include visual arts, crafts, and storytelling. In the evening there will be a Korean Festival K-Pop Competition on the main stage and will feature rising stars showcasing their choreography, vocals, and presence on the stage in a high-energy live competition. Parsons Alley will feature live music, performances, and multicultural storytelling as well. This will be on Saturday August 9.
