Duluth will be hosting several special events for the summer.
Beginning next month, downtown Duluth will be the location for Parsons Thursday Nights Out. Parson Alley will feature different and exciting events, ranging from pop-up parties to pianos duels and mariachi. This is expected to be the favorite destination on Thursday nights in Duluth and will run from June 4 through August 27.
Two of the most celebrated jazz musicians in the Southeast, Joe Gransden and Kenny Banks Sr., will be performing “The Art of the Song” next month to celebrate Juneteenth. Gransden is a vocalist and trumpeter known across the country for his big band of 16 musicians. Though boasting a distinctive style, he has been compared to Chef Baker and Frank Sinatra.
Banks Sr. is a performer, arranger, and composer who is comfortable with many musical styles. He is often an accompanist for Gransden and has played with names like Earl Klugh, Lizz Wright, Jennifer Holiday, and Aretha Franklin.
The pair will be performing at Red Clay on Main Street on Friday, June 19. The price of premium tickets in $43, while reserve tickets are $38.
