Access to Capital for Entrepreneurs (ACE) is partnering with the city of Norcross to offer the Small Business Grant Program.

Funding from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) in the amount of $600,000 will be provided to qualified small businesses to alleviate the financial impacts of the past two years. The grant program will provide financial assistance to these businesses to help stabilize and sustain them, and ensure that they can continue to pay their employees. Varying amounts of the funds will be provided to small businesses operating within the Norcross city limits. Among the expenses covered by the grant are operating costs such as utility bills, payroll, and rent.

Craig Newton, mayor of Norcross, said these businesses, which are owned operated by friends and neighbors of the city, provide jobs and many services that are essential to the city. He added that these funds will help to ensure these businesses continue to be successful in the community.

The criteria businesses need to meet to quality for these funds include being recognized as a corporation in good standing in the state, demonstrating a decline in revenue of 25% or more for the tax years 2019 and 2020, and having an active business license in the city. The deadline to apply for these funds is next Thursday, June 2.
