Norcross gallery features new exhibit and additional activities

A new exhibit is now opened at Norcross Gallery and Studios entitled “Georgia Spring,” featuring five local artists.

One of the artists, Anne Emerson Hall, has three large and expressive portraits, each of which has a unique story. The paintings are of a woman in the spring of her life experiencing three significant objects from when the artist was painting in Croton-on-Hudson in New York.

“Bellingrath Gardens” is the work of Jean Baldwin and highlights her love of flowers. There is a photograph by William Grewe Mullins of the back of an abandoned house while Kathy Collins has a large acrylic painting of the environment just outside the entrance to the gallery. There is another large acrylic painting by Lucy Brady of Cumberland Island. More information about such artists and their backgrounds can be made available with brochure printing.

The exhibit is open to the public until Saturday, May 27.

There will also be a series of classes, critique sessions, figure study, and an open studio coming to the gallery. “Life through the Lens” is an event where people take pictures of the city over a period of two days on Monday, July 3 and Tuesday, July 4. Entries accepted for exhibition will be on display throughout Norcross from Thursday, September 14 through Saturday, October 21, with 10 photographs selected for the exhibition in the gallery.
