Norcross will be the location from which the United States Postal Service will be issuing its latest Flag Stamp later this month.
The Postal Service says it will be the Forever Stamp, which is currently worth 47ยข, and will be issued in coil format and in Booklets of 10 and 20. The sizes of the coils have not been specified.
A ceremony will soon be held at the Hilton Atlanta Northeast during the Southeastern Stamp Expo, which is hosted by the Southeast Federation of Stamp Clubs. Jeff Williamson, Chief Human Resources Officer and Executive Vice President of the United States Postal Service; Mick Zais, President of the American Philatelic Society; and Mary-Anne Penner, Director of Stamp Services for the United States Postal Service will be participating in the ceremony.
A detail of the photograph by Tom Gill, depicting a billowing United States flag, will be on the stamp. Greg Breeding designed the stamp and Terrance W. McCaffrey provided the art direction. McCaffrey is the former manager of Stamp Development at the Postal Service and he and Breeding also collaborated on the Flag Forever Stamp for 2016.
The stamp will be unveiled 11:00 am on January 27. The Postal Service may use a poster printing company to show a picture of the new stamp at the ceremony.
