Atlanta History Center gardens open for summer

The Atlanta History Center Gardens will be open daily in July and August, with social distancing measures in place.

Timed tickets can be purchased online or at the museum to tour the gardens. Tickets are arranged every 30 minutes and include admission to museum.

Among the gardens are the Goizueta Garden, a small formal space with flowering and fragrant plants, water features, mixed borders, hedges, and French antique benches. Meanwhile, the Quarry Garden has native plants, herbs, a waterfall, trees, and shrubs.

The Farm Gardens have a kitchen garden, vegetables, heirloom flowers, sheep, goats, chickens, and turkeys. Swan House Garden is a formal area that reflects the Jazz age, and combines Italian and English garden designs for entertaining.

The Rhododendron Garden has a variety of shade plants, a pond, and steam bed with rhododendrons, flowering trees, and ground covers. Sims Asian Garden has a collection of azaleas, Japanese maple trees, a variety of hydrangeas, winter rose, and lilies.

Swan Woods and Cabin lets visitor explore the forest with pine, beech, and tulip trees, ferns, and native wildflowers. Last but not least, Veterans Park has fountains and benches to rest and enjoy the scenic grounds around the museum.

Brash Coffee is open for takeout and Souper Jenny’s offers soup, sandwiches, salads, and beverages. Gardens are open 10:00 am – 4:00 pm daily. Printers design and provide poster printing for organizations like this.
