Atlanta: hub for Martin Luther King Jr. Day activities

Atlantans have plenty of options to commemorate Martin Luther King Jr. Day next month. Held nationally every year on the third Monday each January, the day celebrates historical African-American achievements.

Special exhibits, lectures, services, art and concerts make up a full day of recognition of the legacy of Dr. King and his influence on the country and the civil rights movement.

Residents and visitors can spend time at a number of historic landmarks and monuments throughout the 35 acre Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Park in Atlanta. It is the site of King’s birth home and Ebenezer Baptist Church, where he attended and was pastor.

The King Center is the official memorial site which includes a multi-media library and archive as well as Freedom Hall featuring exhibits and art. The center will present a full slate of events and activities in the week leading up to the annual day of recognition including a youth summit and community awards. Visitors can also learn more about Dr. King’s Life through guided tours and park ranger talks.

Institutions like the King Center often look for printing services for their promotional literature.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day in Atlanta will be celebrated Monday, January 19,2026 with a formal service at 10 am in the park. Further information on all related events is available on the Center website.
