What's Happening in Atlanta, GA…

Atlanta neighborhood benefits from annual festival

Next month’s Fall Fest at Candler Park in Atlanta will feature something for all ages.

The community celebration is presented by the Candler Park Neighborhood Organization (CPNO), which directs all the funds raised at the festival toward park upgrades and improvements. The CPNO relies completely on volunteers to organize and run the event over two days.

This will be the 24th year of the festival being held in its current form, although a fall celebration has reportedly taken place for at least the last 35 years and possibly longer. In recent years, the festival has attracted as many as 20,000 neighbors and visitors per day to the park and adjacent streets.

There will be live music performances, a 5km run, an evening ball, games, food, rides, a kids’ area and other attractions. One of the unique festival events is a tour of area houses. This is a ticketed event in which a number of property owners open up their homes to the public for a peek behind the doors, gardens, and facades.

Organizers of large community festivals such as this often use poster printing to advertise the events and attractions.

Atlanta’s Fall Fest in Candler Park will be held on October 4 and 5 from noon to 10:00 pm at 1500 McLendon Avenue. Further information, including the schedule of live music, is available online.
