Atlanta to find new use for invasive plants

Invasive species can be a real problem in many ecosystems, but a workshop planned for Atlanta will put these plants to good use by turning them into attractive décor items.

Morning Glory Floral Design will be teaching a group of registrants how they can turn invasive plant materials into a festive wreath, and tickets are $32.40, which includes fees and taxes. It will be held at 1300 Fleetwood Drive SE, and it will take two hours to complete.

The attendees will be using wisteria, kudzu, and honeysuckle to craft vine-based wreaths, and other invasive plants may be utilized as well. While they work, the group will discuss ways they can add their own personal touch to their piece, and if time permits, they will be able to do so before they head for home. It will be a casual class that is intended to be fun and offer opportunities for the participants to socialize.

Hosting a workshop gives the public a chance to learn a new skill, and it also provides a way for a small business to introduce itself to potential customers. A flyer printing service can prepare promotional materials for events like this that may be both budget friendly and also easy to distribute.

The Wreath Making with Invasive Vines workshop is scheduled to begin at 3:00 pm on March 11th. Tickets are $30.00 each.
