Atlanta says farewell to popular band

A beloved band is currently on its farewell tour, with its final performances being right here in its home state.

The B-52’s, a new wave group that formed on the alt-rock scene in the 1970s, rose to popularity due to their unique vocals and memorable instrumental pieces on the guitar and keyboard. The group has also been Grammy-nominated three times for Best Alternative Music Album. It currently consists of nine members, the leads being Kate Pierson, Fred Schneider, and Keith Strickland. The three initiated their musical career after a session together in a casual meetup, officially forming the band after their first public performance at an intimate gathering here in Georgia.

With this event, the band revitalizes its ‘70s sound for modern audiences. It will be three nights of toe-tapping, upbeat, synth-rock music which will have patrons singing along in a venue reminiscent of the 1980s.
