Winter Park Memorial Hospital celebrates milestone

The Winter Park Memorial Hospital (WPMH) has recently commemorated a major anniversary and it has aspirations to expand its services.

The hospital has now been open for

over 60 years. In this time, it has become a big local employer. If its vision is realized then it could be recruiting more staff soon. This might involve the use of printing services within Winter Park. Former mayor and chief executive Ken Bradley has told the Orlando Sentinel:

“We really have been an economic engine for Central Florida. We’re not just meeting needs, but we’re also serving an important business need.”

Mr. Bradley has stressed that recent years have witnessed considerable resources being allocated to WPMH. This money has facilitated extensions to the services being offered on the site. While some of the investment has financed private rooms, another portion of it has aimed to improve healthcare for local women.

The city of Winter Park has developed to the extent that it has nearly 30,000 residents. At this point in time, WPMH is the biggest employer inside the city boundaries. When the economy has dipped in the past, the hospital has contributed to the resilience of the city.

Rosemary Laird, a medical director for Florida Hospital for Seniors, spoke at the commemorative event. She has pointed out that enhanced medical treatment has helped people to live longer.
