Winter Park college announces state-of-the-art lab

The Spatial Computing Innovation Lab has been unveiled at Full Sail University in Winter Park.

This is a new space that enables students to explore the latest in immersive media technology. It has a Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive camera that is used with Apple Vision Pro and is the first campus environment to have one of these devices.

These technologies will enable the students enrolled in the emerging technology and entertainment media degree programs of the college to develop projects using the URSA Cine Immersive with a spatial computer that is leading in the industry to conduct research in the real world.

In addition to the new immersive camera, the lab includes 50 Apple Vision Pro devices; six 24-inch iMacs; two 98-inch Sony Bravia displays; and a 10-plus-acre campus.

President of the Americas for Blackmagic Design, Dan May, said that the lab enables students to be at the forefront of workflows in immersive media. He expressed his thrill to be able to provide students with the needed tools to explore this medium so that they can create imaginative images and immersive content. He added:

“Full Sail University is preparing the next generation of creators to lead the future of entertainment and storytelling.”

News of such new labs and their benefits for students can be disseminated throughout a community and elsewhere with flyer printing.
