An innovative drone facility at the campus of Full Sail University in Winter Park is now open.
The Full Sail University Drone Innovation Center spans over 7,870 square feet and features six different designated areas. There is an advanced airspace that is a flight zone area for safety security, defense applications, autonomous navigation, and drone races. A dedicated communications space is a hub for communications that allows for live streaming, creating podcasts, and a range of multimedia communications needs.
An engineering space is the home for services and hardware and is a hub for engineering for students. In the simulation and programming space, students can test flight simulations using computer vision, artificial intelligence, and drone simulation software. A multipurpose situation room will enable students and educators to learn new flight control software, review flight footage, and collaborate on ongoing drone projects.
Lastly, a remote operations space will enable the mimicking of remote operation environments that are used in live applications in defense, the military, business, and event production. Such new facilities can benefit from brochure printing to provide more details on their features and cutting-edge technologies.
Executive Director of Emerging Technologies at Full Sail University, Dr. Haifa Maamar, said that this space will enable students in several degree programs to learn how the technology of drones can serve a wide range of sectors, from the military to business and entertainment.
