Winter Park to hold unique dining experience

The 22nd Dinner on the Avenue will be held in Winter Park this spring.

This event is hosted by the Parks and Recreation Department of the city and promises to be a fun dining experience. Considered the deapartment’s social event of the year, it is held along Park Avenue between Morse Boulevard and New England Avenue.

Ticket prices are $175 for tables of eight, which includes only the table, black linen tablecloth, and chairs. How the dinner itself is handled is determined by those at the table. People can bring a potluck feast or hire a local caterer to feed the group.

The challenge is to rely on creativity and for each group to develop its individual décor and unique look. There will be awards given in several categories including most original, most elegant, most colorful, and best themes from television or movies, as well as honorable mentions. At 7:00 pm, judging will begin and awards will be presented once the judges have made their decisions.

Local poster printing services offer a powerful tool for spreading the word about such special events throughout a city.

The Splash, Float, Swim initiative will receive a portion of the proceeds from the event. Dinner on the Avenue will be from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm on Saturday, April 11. Tickets are now on sale at the Winter Park Community Center.
