Winter Park to home new manufacturing facility

The fourth radioligand therapy (RLT) manufacturing facility of Novartis in the United States will be built in Winter Park.

The facility will span 35,000 square feet and is a significant milestone in the company’s investment strategy in this country of $23 billion that it announced in April 2025. It is expected that it will create 50 high-quality jobs in the area over the next three years.

CEO of Novartis, Vas Narasimhan, said that the approach to certain cancers has been changed by radioligand therapy and the growing manufacturing network in the United States ensures that his company can deliver these important medications with reliability and speed to those who need them. He added that in the selection of Winter Park for this new facility, the company evaluated many factors to ensure that this was the right fit for the patients they serve as well as for the company.

Head of U.S. Drug Product Operations, James Fredette, pointed out that specialized talent is essential for RLT manufacturing and a major factor in choosing new facility locations. He added that Florida’s sustained investment in technology and life sciences education has built a strong pipeline of skilled professionals, so the state is well positioned to emerge as a leader in pharmaceutical manufacturing.

This manufacturing facility is expected to be operational by 2029.
