A health care facility in Winter Park topped out recently, and more than 100 people gathered to celebrate the occasion.
Development and construction crews, as well as community leaders, gathered for the “Topping Out” ceremony at the Watercrest Winter Park Assisted Living and Memory Care, located in Winter Park. The facility provides 107 resort-style units for seniors.
The phrase “topping out” means that a new building has reached as high as it will go. The event, which is usually limited to the construction industry, often involves raising a flag and tying it to the highest point of the building. However, this ceremony was much more unusual than most, since food trucks were there, and attendees played basketball.
Much of the event was to say thank you to the companies that worked on the project, including International Painting, Elite Electric, St. Johns Construction, and D2 Architecture. Operators of facilities like this can use brochure printing to create Booklets to illustrate the center's amenities to prospective residents.
Watercrest Senior Living Group is the lead on the project, and its vice president for construction management, Jeremy Cairns, said it was extremely unusual to see food trucks or basketball competitions taking place in an unfinished building. He added that Watercrest took a routine event in construction and turned it into a chance to show appreciation to the tradespeople who created the facility.Get a Free Quote for Booklets
