The Orange County School Board has approved Dr. Michael Meechin as the new principal of Winter Park High School.

With over two decades of experience in education, Dr. Meechin has been a principal of a high school for close to 10 years. He has a strong track record of empowering teachers, supporting student achievement, and building school communities that thrive. He attended the University of Central Florida where he earned his doctorate degree and has spent much of his career in schools in Central Florida.
Recognized across the country as an educator, Dr. Meechin is also the founder of The Principal School, a platform of professional development for school leaders, whose goal is to help busy school leaders save time with practical strategies that create real impact and lasting school improvement. His work has been featured by the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and the National Principals Conference.
Dr. Meechin has expressed his excitement about joining the community of Winter Park High School and is looking forward to listening to the community, learning from them, and growing together. He will be hosting a formal meet and greet and will be holding other opportunities for staff, students, and families to meet with him.
