Winter Park Square opened on November 10, and though its tenant roster is not full yet, Scott Fish, who is the project developer, is enthusiastic, saying this center is ‘different’.
For one thing, he notes that Winter Park Square is walkable, inviting people to stroll among the restaurants and stores in the center, which will also feature housing units in the future. It is also located on the Winter Park side of highway 17-92, which makes it easier for pedestrians to get to.
Also making the mall different from others is the fact that there are two cisterns on top of the Whole Foods building, each holding 750 gallons. The water collected will be used to irrigate the landscaping. In addition, the building is trimmed with reclaimed wood.
Among the stores either open or planned are Whole Foods, a Nordstrom Rack, Habit Burger, a PNC Bank, and Café Rio. There may be small shops and restaurants on the ground floor of residence towers as well. Woody Trotman, who is managing the new center on behalf of the developer, UP Development, said he has received approximately 20 letters of intent for each available space, despite the fact that rents in the center are about $60 per square foot, which makes them some of the highest in the area.
Developments like these can benefit by working with brochure printers, which can create illustrated Brochures that list the amenities offered by new projects.
