Engineers plan Asian restaurant for Winter Park

Two engineers are teaming up to bring their experience of eating at relaxed hangouts to Winter Park.

Quan Van and Isra Sunhachawi have enjoyed extensive travels over the years, and explored many different cuisines. Van has spent time in Japanese gastropubs, known as izakayas, while Sunhachawi has eaten in South Korea, where meals were built around fried chicken.

The duo is working hard to open its new spot, Kai Asian Street Fare, which is sited on State Road 436. At present, renovations are underway.

Van, who is a chef, will be resuming his role and is in charge of the kitchen. He is already working on a menu that goes well beyond offering items like chicken wings. He plans to stuff tacos with unusual fillings like bulgogi (Korean barbecue pork or beef), chicken satay, Taiwanese pork belly, and a lemongrass beef usually found in banh mi (Vietnamese sandwiches). Bulgogi will be used as a topping for French fries.

Kai Asian Street Fare's owners hope to have their doors open sometime in October, and plan to post updates to their Facebook page.

With the help of a flyer printing company, businesses like this can create a handout to distribute at the location during the grand opening. If they choose to include a coupon on the flyer, they may draw even more patrons to the new location.
