Tampa's Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park will be turned into a Winter Village in late November.
The ice rink will open and run from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm on opening night, noon to 11:00 pm on weekends, 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm on weeknights until December 23rd when it will open at noon. Tampa Bay Ice Shows will have performances on the three days of the opening day weekend, Special Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve Shows, and on the three days of closing weekend - all beginning at 7:00 pm.
Cafe at Winter Village will have its own hours, and the shops of Winter Village will be boutiques with Christmas gifts.
The Winter Village Express, TECO Line Streetcar, will take riders from Ybor to Whiting Station and back on one-hour trips. Each trip will offer holiday trivia, cookies and milk and a holiday sing-along. The streetcar will leave at noon and run November 24th and December 8th, 15th and 22. Tickets are $10. A Silent Disco will be from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Fridays.
Special events will include Holiday Trivia on November 27th and January 1st at 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, holiday tree decorating contest from December 7th through the 9th, themed skate nights on Tuesdays, and National Shop Small Saturday on November 30th.
Photos taken at Christmas events like these often become pictures in a town or park's visitor guide brochure printing.
Winter Village will be in Hixon Waterfront Park November 22, 2024, through January 5th, 2025.
