The nonprofit organizations Where Love Grows and the Boys and Girls Club of Tampa Bay have worked together with PDQ restaurant to put together a cooking class to teach over 20 children how to create their menu items.
PDQ Head Chef, Michael Brannock, volunteered because he wanted to teach the kids the love of cooking, which was an integral part of his life growing up. Businesses like PDQ can use their contributions to the community for opportunities to work with Print shops for flyer printing services to promote events and help raise funds for nonprofit agencies.
Where Love Grows teaches children to take advantage of resources and skills to expand their opportunities. Working together with communities to reduce and hopefully eliminate childhood hunger, the organization believes that teaching the children how to cook enables them to use their resources wisely, and that working with local restaurants expands the resources available to teach simple recipes.
Where Love Grows was established in Tampa in 2013 and continually needs support from the community to complete its mission. Since it was created, it has provided hundreds of meals to organizations, including The Boys and Girls Clubs, to assist needy children in the area. Founder Vicki Anzalone, has made it her mission to create a family connection with everyone the group encounters.
