An artist known for his love songs and smooth voice is bringing his tour to a local space in late August.
John Legend is a producer, singer, songwriter, and musician. Prior to his career as a recording artist taking off, Legend worked as a musician for recording sessions of other artists, in addition to performing at small venues. His piano playing added to his vocals, with his choice to blend soul and R&B proving the ticket to his rise to stardom. Legend has been winning awards since his debut album dropped in 2004. In 2018, he completed his EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony), becoming the first African American male to do so.
Among Legend’s catalog are tunes like “Ordinary People,” “All of Me,” “Glory” (with Common, from the film “Selma”), “Love Me Now,” and “Wonder Woman.”
An Evening With John Legend: A Night of Songs And Stories is an event that will not only include current music from Legend, but also a new spin on his classics, and even some personal tales from throughout his life. Ticketmaster is the vendor for the tour, with tickets to the local performance ranging from $275 to $633.50. Those requiring ADA accessible seats are asked to call Seminole Hard Rock Tampa Event Center’s box office. The concert is age restricted, with the minimum age being 21. Merchandise with a graphic design tied to the performing act is often sold during shows. The experience starts at 8:00 pm on Sunday, August 25.
