Disney reopens parks

“The Most Magical Place on Earth” is open once again after being closed for five months.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom opened their doors to revelers earlier this month. Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT opened on July 15, although guests were able to start buying tickets and making their hotel reservations as of July 9. Tampa’s proximity to these parks makes it a popular destination for tourists.

The official statement from Disney states that the parks are reopening and are implementing measures that keep attendance in check and control how dense the crowds are. The statement read:

“In addition to limits on attendance and controlled guest density, new procedures will be in place for the park entry, attractions, dining, retail, transportation and more, will the wellbeing of guests and Disney cast members at the forefront of planning.”

The park is also limiting the number of people using the buses, ferry boats, monorail, and other transportation means within the parks. Guests who wish to enter must apply for a Disney Park reservation pass before they arrive at the park. Provisions have been made for linking existing tickets so that they can reserve spots. Many places reopening their doors are turning to flyer printing to hand out safety information.

Guests are advised to use cashless payments wherever possible, and Disney is making it possible to use a mobile app for payments at restaurants. Most of the attractions will be open although some theater shows may remain closed.
