Sparkman Wharf, the first project finished in Tampa’s Channelside District $3bn redevelopment, has replace a former parking lot located between the Florida Aquarium and Amalie Arena.
Sparkman Wharf’s food and beer garden is made up of shipping container structures containing restaurants and an outdoor bar and open to the channel close to Port Tampa Bay, as well as a turfed area. The beer garden provides 30 taps for patrons to enjoy and will highlight Florida craft beer.
Rounding out the wharf is a shuffleboard deck and a live music stage to supply entertainment. Often an aggressive flyer printing campaign is used to inform the public of new entertainment venues.
Investments in public parks, restaurants and new apartment buildings has increased the number of young professionals who live, work, and play in the downtown area. The new development is expected to draw many of those Downtown residents.
Plus, Port Tampa Bay cruise ship passengers will find Sparkman Wharf a place to relax after disembarking ship, allowing them to enjoy a uniquely Tampa experience. When a cruise ship is not docked nearby, boaters should be able to pull up to the dock adjacent to the Wharf.
Across the street from where the new University of South Florida medical school will be opening next year, as well as a Water Street Tampa residential high-rise, Sparkman Wharf is open every day 11:00 am to 10:00 pm.
