The first time Tampa, or Tanpa, appeared in Print was the memoirs of Hernando de Escalante Fontaneda, who spent seventeen years as a captive of the Calusa people. It is believed that the area he described was Charlotte Harbor, but the Spanish mapmakers confused the two and Tampa Bay came to label our area. Today, our team at Minuteman Press are proud to be the premier Business Cards suppliers in Tampa.
One underutilized technique in creating business cards is 3D embossing. This technique uses varying levels of indentation to sculpt an image that any Tampa brand would be proud to present. This technique works best on a thicker, softer cardstock, such as 40pt cotton. One point to keep in mind when applying this technique is that the back of the card will be a mirror image of the front.
A second technique used by business cards suppliers is registered embossing. In this manner, the design is printed on the card first, then punched up with embossing. This is frequently used with foiling, or applying metallic or opaque ink. While embossing works best on softer cardstock, it is not as important in registered embossing as it is in 3D.
