The Tampa Bay Black Authors Expo is returning for its second installment.
TBBAE started off as an idea. After a successful inaugural event, the organizers have decided to make it a two-day event. The first day will feature child writers and Books for children. Day two will be all about other literary genres.
TBBAE was born out of the desire to celebrate the diversity in literary talent Tampa Bay has to offer. This exposition is dedicated to celebrating authors of color who reside in Tampa. The organizers have put together a platform where the creative minds in the area can work together, network, and have a place to promote their stories.
One of the big features of this year’s TBBAE is a presentation about Black Sci-Fi. A panel discussion will follow the presentation and they will be led by Jeff Carroll, who is a professional screenwriter and author. Jeffery White, who is a health enthusiast and author, will co-host the panel and will also be heading a workshop on writing. Promotional Pens are likely to be handed out at such events.
Tonisha Kimble will take up hosting duties and she will also be leading a workshop on how to get started as an author for children's books. Children will be able to participate in a cosplay contest and other entertaining activities.
The expo is scheduled for April 25 to 26 and will be hosted by the Tampa Hillsborough Action Plan, Inc.
