The Sunrise Dan Pearl Branch Library will hold a public screening of a film about the Orinoco River wetlands.
Those interested in learning about wetland environments can attend an event to see Tierras de agua dulce/Freshwater Lands, a documentary by Ana Cristina Henriquez that details the importance of the Orinoco River wetlands. The program is part of the library’s Hispanic Heritage Month celebration. Guests will have a chance to ask Henriquez questions about the film, and light refreshments will be provided to viewers. The movie is in Spanish, though it will have English captions.
Henriquez is a director and author who has worked on several projects, such as A los pies de Canaima and Luna llena. She also helped direct Expedición: Autana, el árbol de la vida. She graduated from the University of Southern California with a Cinematic Arts degree and has worked with major companies like National Geographic and RCTV. Henriquez has written several Books, including Solentiname: Encountering a Myth. She even holds multiple levels of screenwriting workshops.
The documentary will be shown on Tuesday, October 6 from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm. There is no cost to see Henriquez’s film, though seating is limited. Viewers should register in advance for the program.
