Orlando to host Veterans Day parade

The Veterans Advisory Council and Buddy Dyer, mayor of Orlando, are planning to host the Veterans Day Parade in the city for the 24th year.

The parade will honor the women and men who have served in the armed forces. Mayor Dyer and local veterans will open the parade at Orange Avenue near Central Boulevard with a tribute to those who have fought for the United States and defended its freedom. The theme of the parade will be to recognize the important role of transitioning veterans and military families.

After the parade, participants and viewers will be able to celebrate and honor veterans at the Veteran’s Day Celebration event at Lake Eola Park. There will be food, music, and fun for the entire family as well as information for veterans. This is an ideal opportunity for local Print shops to engage in such activities by creating Brochures, Booklets, and pamphlets for such veterans and their families.

Applications are now being accepted for participants in the parade and for nominations for a Grand Marshal. These are due by Monday, September 25. Sponsorships for the event and ad sponsors for the parade program are also being accepted.

The parade will take place on Saturday, November 11 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm with the Veteran’s Day Celebration taking place from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.
