Orlando prepares for Pride

The 18th annual Orlando Pride, presented by the Pride Chamber and Come Out With Pride Inc. (COWP), is just weeks away.

COWP is a non-profit organization formed in 2005 by LGBTQ professionals who worked for the Pride Chamber. They provide opportunities to gay and lesbian people living in Orlando through scholarship programs, community activities, and grants.

Orlando Gay Pride happens during the 1st or 2nd week of October because National Coming Out Day is on October 11, and it is also National Gay and Lesbian History Month.

Those interested in attending can take part in other events, such as watching screenings of LGBTQ movies and a drag race. There will also be a Pride parade at Lake Eola, live entertainment, a kid zone, and fireworks. Orlando Pride is free for all, but there will be food and craft vendors on site. Businesses can register online to be a vendor.

Logo Design is a great way for businesses and event organizers to grab attention and separate themselves from competitors.

This year’s Orlando Pride runs for seven days from Saturday, October 10 to Sunday, October 16. The parade will be on Saturday, October 15 at 5:00 pm. The festival will be at Lake Eola Park at 512 East Washington Street in Orlando. Visit the website for more information or to make a donation.
