The Winter Park Playhouse presents the 5th annual Florida Festival of New Musicals next month.
The four-day event started in 2017 to highlight and elevate musical theatre by nurturing the artistic growth of writers, composers, singers, and actors. The festival is led by WP Playhouse Artistic Director Roy Alan and showcases six musical works that have never been produced. It is the only festival of its kind in Florida.
International and national submissions were sent in as of July 1, 2021. Each script, score, and music demo was reviewed and evaluated by the Festival Artistic Panel. The final six musicals will be performed by professional singers, musicians, and actors.
This year’s selected musicals are Ciao Bambino, Naked: The Musical, Thirty Seconds: The Musical, Stone Crossed, The Goldilocks Variations, and Khan!!!: The Musical.
Tickets cost $10 per person for one musical, and each performance lasts for one hour. Those interested in seeing all six musicals may purchase a festival pass for $50. Individuals from other cities in Orange County, such as Orlando, can attend events like these.
Banner printing is a creative and great way for event organizers to provide information about festivals or events like this.
