The Howl-O-Scream horror attraction comes to Orlando this fall, after a successful run at Busch Gardens in Tampa Bay.
The event takes place at SeaWorld after hours, ticketed separately from the park’s daytime attraction, as it is intended for a mature audience. The event features multiple haunted houses with different themes, such as Water’s Edge Inn, Captain’s Revenge, and Beneath the Ice.
There are also horror-themed live shows in the form of the Siren’s Song and Monster Stomp. Parts of the park are designated as outdoor “Scare Zones,” including Deadly Ambush, a classic slasher-style story set at a campground in the 1960s, and Frozen Terror, filled with icy zombies.
The Howl-O-Scream event also features roaming monsters and creatures throughout the park, including the singing sirens. The spooky atmosphere does not stop food and drinks, with multiple themed bars such as Sirens’ Last Call and Longshoreman Tavern in operation. Visitors are also able to take on SeaWorld’s regular rides such as the Mako coaster and Infinity Falls rapid rides at night.
Halloween events are a major income generator for Orlando’s theme parks, with such events often advertised through flyer printing and social media, and SeaWorld is likely hoping that Howl-O-Scream will complement its more family-oriented Spooktacular weekends and become an annual tradition.
Howl-O-Scream takes place at SeaWorld Orlando on select nights throughout September and October.
