Expanded rail transportation planned in Orlando area

SunRail is planning an expansion in Orange County with the projection to connect several important areas from popular tourist destinations to Orlando International Airport.

Secretary of the Florida Department of Transportation, John Tyler, said that there is a great deal of support for expanding SunRail from the airport to the Orange County Convention Center and eventually to the Disney Springs area. He added that this expansion will serve up to six million riders each year, which is a large increase from current ridership.

This planned expansion plans to connect hubs for tourists and city residents more broadly and efficiently and will provide commuting solutions that are needed for local employers, some of which are the largest in Central Florida as well as popular tourist destinations.

It is estimated that the costs for the new stations and routes can be between $4 and $5 billion. The connection between the convention center and the airport would be the most expensive, with an estimated cost of between $1. billion and $2.4 billion. The extension of the line to Disney Springs is expected to cost between $173 million to $247 million.

Local Print shops often assist with providing more details about such routes with Brochures and other printed materials.

A Project, Development and Environment study is the next step in this project, which can take up to two years. Tyler said that construction could take four to five years once it has begun.
